Shakesperience of a Lifetime

Today was a theatrical whirlwind, as we traveled to Stratford upon Avon to visit the home of the Bard, himself, William Shakespeare. We began with a guided tour of his home town, stopping at the Holy Trinity Church where he and most of his family members are buried. Steph was particularly happy as she is the epitome of a Bard groupie!
Next we visited the cottage of Anne Hathaway (NO! not the actress), Shakespeare’s wife, before visiting their tutor home on Henley Street, which runs through the center of the town. Students signed a guest book. And who knew we had our own Romeo on the tour. In the courtyard outside the home, Benji, stood atop a bench and recited Sonnet # 23 to Alex to ask her to prom!
We had some time to shop in the quaint town before dinner at an Indian restaurant. Next, Charlotte, a guest on our tour, hosted an acting workshop in the gazebo outside the Royal Shakespeare Theatre where we would see a performance of As You Like It, the BEST Shakespeare performance I have yet to see. We all got a real treat!
